Nancy Lopez became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1977 and won 48 LPGA Tour events during her LPGA career, including three major championships.
She won the New Mexico Women's Amateur at age 12, and the U.S. Girls' Junior in 1972 and 1974, at ages 15 and 17, respectively.
Playing in the U.S. Women's Open as an 18-year-old amateur in 1975, she finished tied for second. In 1976, Nancy was named All-American and Female Athlete of the Year for her play at the University of Tulsa. She won the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) National Championship and was a member of the U.S. Curtis Cup and World Amateur teams. She left college after her sophomore year and turned pro in 1977. That year she finished second again in the U.S. Women's Open.
In 1978, her first full season on the LPGA Tour, Nancy won nine tournaments, including at one stretch, five tournaments in a row. She appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, won the Vare Trophy for lowest scoring average, LPGA Rookie of the Year, LPGA Player of the Year and was named the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year. She won another eight times in 1979. She won multiple times in each year from 1980 to 1984, although she played only half-seasons in 1983 and 1984 due to the birth of her first child.
Playing full-time again in 1985, Nancy posted five wins, five seconds and five thirds, won the money title, the scoring title and the Player of the Year Award. She was also named Associate Press Female Athlete of the Year for a second time. She played only four tournaments in 1986, when her second daughter was born. But came back to win multiple times in 1987-89 - three times each in 1988 and 1989 - and once again won Player of the Year honors in 1988. Her schedule was curtailed again in the early 1990s when her third daughter was born. In 1992 she won twice. She continued to play short schedules - from 11 to 18 tournaments - through 2002.
Nancy was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1987 and inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame in 1989. She was a member of the United States Solheim Cup team in 1990 and was captain of the team in 2005. She retired from regular tournament play in 2002, and then attempted a return in 2007 and 2008. Nancy is the only woman to win LPGA Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year, and the Vare Trophy in the same season (1978). Her company, Nancy Lopez Golf, makes a full line of women's clubs, clothing and accessories. In 2014, Nancy started Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures to share her love of golf instilled by her father Domingo with golfers of all ages and skill levels. MOst recently, Nancy was inducted into the PGA Hall of Fame 2025 Class.
Nancy has three wonderful daughters and four beautiful grandchildren named Molly, Hunter, Wynnie and Waylon.


Teresa Zamboni is an award-winning LPGA Class A Professional with over 30 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping golfers of all ages reach their potential. Named the 2007 LPGA National Teacher of the Year, Teresa has also been recognized as one of the LPGA Top 50 Best Teachers (2017–2025) and among Golf Digest’s 50 Best Women Teachers in America. In 2015, she received the prestigious Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award, and in 2022, the Sandy LaBauve Spirit Award for her dedication to mentoring girls through the LPGA–USGA Girls Golf program.
A certified Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf Fitness Instructor and US Kids Certified Coach, Teresa blends technical instruction, fitness, and a “Play Happy!” philosophy to create a positive learning environment for every golfer. She has competed in over 100 LPGA Professional tournaments and played on the Futures Tour (now Epson Tour).
As co-owner of Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures, Teresa partners with LPGA legend Nancy Lopez and fellow professional Sue Powers to deliver unique golf experiences that inspire joy and confidence both on and off the course. Based in Port Orange, Florida, she teaches at Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club, where she also serves as the LPGA–USGA Girls Golf Site Director.
Sue Powers is a Class A LPGA Professional widely celebrated for her excellence in teaching, leadership, and commitment to growing the game. She was honored as the LPGA National Teacher of the Year in 2013, a prestigious national award recognizing her as the best instructor in the country. From 2018 through 2025, she was consistently named among the LPGA Top 50 Best Teachers, reflecting her sustained impact and excellence in instruction.
Sue is Co-Owner of Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures along with fellow LPGA professional Teresa Zamboni, partnering with LPGA Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez to deliver exceptional, joy-infused golf experiences for players of all skill levels. In 2024, she received the 2024 Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award, recognizing those who embody qualities Nancy Lopez values—passion, leadership, giving, and
approachability.
Beyond instruction, Sue has served the LPGA Professionals division in leadership roles—including Southeast Section Secretary and President—demonstrating her dedication to advancing the profession and supporting fellow professionals.
Sue is dedicated to youth development and inclusivity in the sport. She is a member of the LPGA Global Education team, a Site Director for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf national program and actively instructs in the LPGA Girls Leadership Academy. Her coaching extends to the Special Olympics, where she supports players with intellectual disabilities, reinforcing golf’s power to foster fitness, confidence, and life skills.
A certified US Kids Coach, member of the Positive Coaching Alliance, and a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) golf fitness instructor, Sue brings both technical expertise and mentorship to her instruction. Originally from Woodsfield, Ohio, Sue graduated from California State University with a degree in accounting. She applies her analytical skills in her dual role as a financial controller and teaching professional at Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club in Venice, Florida


Strategic Advisor, LPGA Foundation
Nancy Henderson is the Chief Commercial Officer for Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures. Key responsibilities include commercial strategy, partnership and business development, marketing and branding, customer experience and satisfaction, market analysis and growth.
In this role she is tasked with ensuring the “Play Happy” philosophy, Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures brand and core values are reflected in all business functions.
As Strategic Advisor for the LPGA Foundation, Nancy continues her nearly two decades of leadership with the LPGA. As former Foundation President and Chief Teaching Officer, she led the explosive growth of LPGA*USGA Girls Golf from under 5,000 to more than 100,000 participants, launched the LPGA Leadership Academies, and strengthened the LPGA Professionals and LPGA Amateurs programs. Widely respected as an innovative leader, Nancy now focuses on advancing the Foundation’s mission and key initiatives, including the LPGA’s 5th Anniversary Pro-Am at Pebble Beach.
Henderson is a Class A member of both the LPGA and PGA of America. Prior to joining the staff at LPGA Headquarters, she was the Director of Golf and General Manager at LPGA International Golf Course, the home course of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, for over seven years. In 2001, Henderson received the LPGA National Professional of the Year award for her accomplishments at LPGA International.
A native of Clearwater, Florida and a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Henderson earned a four-year scholarship as a member of SMU’s women’s golf team. A two-time US Open participant, her playing accomplishments include more than 300 tournament victories and 14 holes-in-one.
